Follows Leaphorn and Chee, two Navajo police officers in the 1970s Southwest that are forced to challenge their own spiritual beliefs when they search for clues in a double murder case.

The year is 1971. Joe Leaphorn of the Navajo Tribal Police must solve a series of unrelated crimes.

He is joined by his new deputy, Jim Chee. Together, the two men battle the forces of evil and their own personal demons on the path to salvation.
