As a modern-day scientist, Tommy is struggling with mortality, desperately searching for the medical breakthrough that will save the life of his cancer-stricken wife, Izzi.
The Fountain is a 2006 film directed by Darren Aronofsky that weaves together three different storylines, each set in a different time and place, yet all connected by a central thread. The first storyline takes place in 16th century Spain, where a conquistador named Tomas is on a mission to find the mythical Fountain of Youth. The second storyline takes place in the present day and follows a scientist named Tommy who is searching for a cure for his wife Izzy's brain tumor.
The third storyline takes place in the distant future and follows a bald, tattooed astronaut named Tom who is traveling through space with a tree that he believes holds the key to eternal life. The film is a meditation on the nature of mortality and the human desire for immortality, and is visually stunning and emotionally powerful.

Report a mistake
Same rule as woke labels: one report, a written reason, and the community +1 or −1 it — once per member. A net +5 applies the change. Editors can also apply it immediately.

Woke labels
Members can file a published criterion and itemized evidence. Other members +1 or −1 that reason — once. If 10% of members who weighed in file a label, and a reason reaches net +5, that rank keeps the title omitted from the database. Weak labels do not.
